Nishantha Warnakulasuriya

nishanthaViolinist and Singer, Nishantha has been studying Violin and Piano under the guidance and patronage of Mrs. Louisa David from a young age, and is presently preparing to sit for the Associate of the Trinity College London (ATCL) qualification in Violin. He has successfully completed Grade 8, in both IWMS and Trinity Examinations with
distinction, and has won several awards in Violin for graded examinations held by the Institute of Western Music & Speech (I.W.M.S); he was also a finalist at the ‘Young musician of the year’ competition organized by Institute. He is a member of the Junior Symphony Orchestra (JSO) of Sri Lanka, and has performed with The Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka (SOSL) during several occasions.

He was an active member of the St. Cecilia’s Choir of St. Joseph’s College back in college, whilst becoming a Choir leader as well. He is presently an active member of The Old Joes’ Choir, a well renowned choral group that has performed both locally and internationally.

Apart from pursuing his professional qualification studying CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), he teaches Violin at the Soul sounds Academy, who engages in teaching as a part time hobby and has been involved with the academy for several months.
