She started her musical journey from a young age dancing and singing
to tunes played from the nursery Piano. Playing the Piano and singing
were her most favored activities from an early age. She was a member
of both the Methodist College and Bishops College choirs. Her main
areas of study were Piano, Western Vocals and Flute in the department
of Western Music at the University of Visual and Performing Arts,
Colombo 7. While learning she started teaching Music from 2017
onwards and is also a Music teacher at a leading school in Colombo.
She is a teacher of Piano at the Soul Sounds Academy, Colombo.
“Music can change the world” was a quote by the famous composer
Ludwig van Beethoven. “I strongly believe that Music is an essential
element to human life as it makes the learner more human and
provides the patience and perseverance to face life with all it’s ups and
downs.” Teaching at Soul Sounds brings her great delight as she states
that the serious role of teaching Musical knowledge in it’s complete
manner encourages learners. while teaching, to witness their progress
of developing their learnings on Music not only shows an increase in
Musical knowledge of the students but also a positive gradual strong
character development through the knowledge imparted. As Music
deals with the heart and Soul it creates memorable memories for
teacher’s and students alike.
